Full of anti-inflammatory ingredients that pack a nutritional punch
Check these whole food ingredients out:
Hibiscus Tea
An antioxidant powerhouse full of vitamin C and even a bit of protein, this is where the pink color comes from – naturally! Hibiscus tea is made from the petals of the hibiscus flower, but it doesn’t taste overly floral. It kind of reminds me of a slightly earthy cranberry juice when brewed with water.
Honey or Maple Syrup
Raw, pure honey contains antifungal and antibacterial properties, and if you buy locally-produced honey, it’s even been said to help reduce seasonal allergies! Maple syrup, while a natural and AIP-compliant alternative to corn syrup or cane sugar, you’ll find that it’s claimed to have a lower glycemic index than the former.
Lemon Juice
A splash of lemon juice in your drinks or even drizzled over AIP-compliant meals can help to boost digestion as well as enhance flavors – like a tart, fresh boost!
Coconut Cream
Rich and luscious coconut cream has been rumored to help with constipation, assist in weight loss, and even lower blood pressure.
Though if you are sensitive or allergic to coconut, you can totally use my homemade tigernut milk in this recipe instead! It won’t be as rich, and the color will be slightly different, but it will still be SO GOOD and coconut-free!
SeaSalt
Not only does a pinch of natural sea salt help to bring out each exquisite flavor in recipes, it also adds electrolytes and can even help support recovery from adrenal fatigue.
Strawberries
Not just a pretty fruit, strawberries contain vitamin C, manganese, folate, and potassium, too!
