My Favorite AIP Store-Bought Snacks will help you better maintain the dietary part of the AIP elimination phase.

The Paleo Autoimmune Protocol relies on cooking pretty much all of your own meals from scratch. This can make it seem difficult to fit in the extra time to also prepare your in-between meal sustenance. So I wanted to give you a list of my favorite AIP snacks that you can buy either at your local grocery store or in online specialty shops.

We could all use a little break from cooking, so I hope these snack ideas help you to free up some of your time! Sticking to the AIP can be hard but if you are prepared and have these snacks with you, you avoid being hungry with nothing compliant to eat.

Epic Bars

If you want a snack that is convenient and easy to grab, you can try one of Epic’s AIP-compliant meat bars, one of My Favorite AIP Store-Bought Snacks!

These bars are each packed with around 9 grams of protein. They include either grass-fed, wild-caught, or natural meat as the #1 ingredient.

They also contain other healthy ingredients – depending on which flavor you choose – like apples, celery, sea salt, or vinegar. My favorite flavors are the Bison Bacon Cranberry bar, and also the Wild Boar Bacon.

I love keeping a bar in my desk – just in case it’s going to be a longer day at work than anticipated. My purse is another stash spot for this on-the-go, compliant snack that staves off the “hangries!”

Wild Zora

Wild Zora has expanded from their original and delicious meat bars to all sorts of delicious snacking and convenience food items.

I love their Lamb & Veggie Bars with Rosemary and Spinach! Even some of my friends who are NOT fans of lamb swear by this bar as a way to get a different variety of animal protein in – one that they otherwise would not have eaten.

If a quick, hot soup sounds more up your alley, you will love how fast and convenient their instant packets of soups are. Their Lemon Chicken flavor has just a hint of lemony tang to it, and the Beef & Mushroom flavor is mildly earthy, sippable, and savory.

Plus, if you’re in need of a full, rustic meal for a road trip or camping trip, their Summit Savory Chicken and their Mountain Beef Stew instant food packs only require hot water added directly to the packaging!

Plantain Chips & Cassava Chips are two of My Favorite AIP Store-Bought Snacks

These chips are both great options because you can usually find these nowadays at regular grocery stores. I love that I can use these as a quick carb boost, especially when dipped in guacamole or in my AIP Pesto Sauce.

Avoid brands made with GMO industrial seed oils like canola, soy, or vegetable oil. Instead, choose brands made with only AIP compliant oils like palm oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, or olive oil and sea salt.

Also check the packaging for any non-compliant ingredients like nightshades, preservatives, or additives. I love this brand of cassava chips, and this is my favorite brand of plantain chips.

Fresh or Dried Fruit

Fruit is another healthy snack that is good to always have with you. Some fruit is just fine left out of the fridge, so it is easy to keep in your purse or in your car.

For example, try to keep oranges, apples, and bananas close by when you need it. These types of fruits are often found at the front counter of convenience stores as well, so even if you are on the road, you can find them.

Otherwise, bags of dried fruit are another option. It won’t spoil quickly and can be stored just about anywhere. You can also combine it with toasted sliced tigernuts for a healthy and well-balanced snack.

When choosing dried fruit, make sure it is compliant by avoiding brands that add anti-caking agents like cornstarch, and preservatives like citric acid (which is basically made from mold that’s grown on corn). Be sure to also choose unsulphured varieties. The only ingredients that should be on the ingredient list is fruit and maybe apple juice concentrate.

AIP Cereals

Breakfast: another department for My Favorite AIP Store-Bought Snacks!

If you are craving that crunch and creaminess of a bowl of breakfast cereal or oatmeal but are avoiding grains, this Muesli by AiPeazy really hits the spot.

I also absolutely adore the newest grain-free wonder to hit the market, Lovebird Cereal! My favorite flavor is their Cinnamon, but their variety pack also includes a Honey flavor and also an Unsweetened version if you like to keep it super simple, but still delicious.

Or if you prefer to make your own, give my AIP Trail Mix Bark a go, the break it up into bite-sized pieces. It’s super easy to whip together and goes really well with my Homemade AIP Tigernut Milk.

Pork rinds

If you’re in a hangry-bind, you can find bags of conventional pork rinds at pretty much any gas station and grocery store.

While it’s unlikely that the brand you find at common stores will be pastured pork and sea salt, at the very least you can find plain versions that have only pork skin and salt. Avoid flavors like BBQ or “hot and spicy” because you will run into nightshades and non-compliant preservatives and flavorings (like chili powder, MSG, and maltodextrin).

Though since both animal quality and the form of your salt is super important on the AIP, you may wish to source a cleaner product like the pork rinds from Epic. They only source quality meats and use sea salt instead of table salt. You can find them here!
