When I first embarked on my health journey it was all about making changes to what I was putting in my body, in terms of foods. I didn’t think about skin care, makeup, or cleaning products. Now that I have been on this journey a short while…I can see that making a commitment to your health involves making changes in all areas of your life, not just food.

It can be very daunting trying to make all of these changes in your life, especially if you try to do it all at once. I recommend making these changes one at a time. Even if you are a cold turkey type person, then go cold turkey with the food changes or the sleep changes. Don’t try to do it all at once. If it all seems overwhelming to you, then start small. Make changes to what you drink, then your snacks, what you eat when your on the go and so on.

Fast forward to where I am now. For the most part I have the food changes down and I move my body every day. However, I was noticing that my reactions to the old products I used seemed to be getting stronger. Cosmetics seemed to be breaking me out more and the smell of chemicals were starting to burn my nose. Maybe they always had…but I was sure taking a lot more notice to it now. So I decided to look for some DIY recipes to replace my cleaning products.

I did this over two days. I did the laundry products one day and then the rest of the supplies the next day. Overall it probably took me 3 hours. Make sure you have all the ingredients you need including funnels, measuring cups, spoons, jars etc. before you start.

I don’t have any reviews on any of these recipes yet as I have only been using them a few days, but as I update or make changes I will be sure to let you know.

Scouring powder (used for soap scum, tough stains), Toilet Fizzies (to replace toilet bowl cleaner), Dusting spray & furniture polish (for wood), Glass cleaner (use micro fiber cloths (not paper towel), Dishwasher detergent (1 tbsp per load), Kitchen citrus cleaner (all-purpose), Bathroom cleaner (all-purpose), and Rose Scented Room Spray (air freshener).

Do you have any cleaning DIY recipes you swear by? If so, let me know! I would love to try them! Happy Cleaning!
