I’ll cover the benefits of using goat milk powder and carob in hot cocoa as well as offer tips and variations to customize the drink to your liking!
The Benefits of Goat Milk Powder in Hot Cocoa
Goat milk powder is a nutritious alternative to cow’s milk powder. It is rich in vitamins and minerals, including calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D. Goat milk is also easier to digest than cow’s milk, making it a great option for those with lactose intolerance or sensitivities! When used in hot cocoa, goat milk powder adds a creamy and velvety texture, enhancing the overall taste and mouthfeel of the drink.
In addition to its nutritional benefits, goat milk powder also has a distinct flavor that complements the sweetness of hot cocoa. It has a slightly tangy and earthy taste that adds depth and complexity to the drink. This unique flavor profile sets goat milk powder apart from other milk alternatives and makes it a great choice for hot cocoa!
The Health Benefits of Carob in Hot Cocoa
Carob is a versatile and AIP compliant ingredient that is commonly used on the protocol as a substitute for chocolate. It is derived from the pods of the carob tree and has a naturally sweet and nutty flavor. Carob is a great alternative to chocolate for those with allergies or sensitivities, as it does not contain caffeine or theobromine, which are found in chocolate. Source
Carob is also rich in fiber, antioxidants, and minerals such as calcium and potassium. When used in hot cocoa, carob adds a rich and chocolatey flavor without the bitterness or caffeine content of traditional chocolate. It provides a healthier alternative for those looking to indulge in a sweet treat without the negative effects of chocolate. Source
