What are Food Triggers?

These are foods or food groups that trigger an inflammatory response in your body.

This could be anything from a histamine response, an inflammatory response, or even autoimmunity flaring up again.

Common signs of these inflammatory responses include (but are not limited to): runny nose, itchy skin, painful or swollen joints, headache, fatigue, brain fog, insomnia, or heightened stress.

Inflammatory foods travel through the gut lining, then can enter your bloodstream and lymphatic system. Then cytokines alert your immune system - and this is when your body can attack healthy cells in their confusion. This unfortunately can lead to a whole host of exhausting and annoying symptoms.

The best way to discover what your food triggers are is to do an elimination diet like the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol, and then keep a food journal so that you can track your body's responses to foods.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR RESET

The first few days can be tough...

Your body may cry out to you to give it back any of the sugars, grains, coffee, or even preservatives that you may have added back in which you have now cut back out. This is called withdrawal, and it is real!

You may have headaches, intense cravings, feel flu-ish, fatigued, irritable, or just plain blah.

BUT stick with your reset and push forward - because you CAN do hard things, especially when there is a reward at the end of this.

The worst part only last a few days, I promise. Then you are in the clear to start feeling clarity, food freedom, and symptom relief!

Drink extra water, and add a pinch of sea salt and lemon juice to your waters. This will help toxins move through your liver and give it some extra support in detoxifying your system.
