These 5 AIP Baked Dessert Recipes on the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol have your sweet tooth covered!
You may have thought that once you start the Paleo AIP that you’ll no longer be able to enjoy any kind of dessert. But this is not true at all! It would be hard to imagine never having a slice of cake or a scoop of ice cream ever again.
But you don’t have to worry, having autoimmunity does not mean that you no longer get to experience the joys of desserts. You’ll just want to be more conscious about your sugar intake…keeping it at or below 20 grams of daily total sugars while you work to reduce inflammation and discover your food triggers with the protocol.
The trick is to learn to make your own desserts that are anti-inflammatory and free of grains, gluten, and other inflammatory foods. That way you’ll know exactly what goes into the treat and you can keep it compliant with the elimination phase of the AIP.
There are ways to get your sweets while on the AIP, so don’t fret! Stumped for ideas? Check out all of the delicious AIP Baked Dessert Recipes below!

AIP Lemon Coconut Cake with Lemon Glaze
It would be very difficult to find a person who does not enjoy a good piece of lemon cake with icing. Thankfully, for AIP-ers like you, there is a way to tweak this classic to become healthier and less inflammatory.
By using coconut flour, arrowroot starch, and gelatin, you get to eat a slice of bright, sunshiny cake with zero gluten, grains, or eggs!
AIP Rhubarb Nectarine Crisp
Most people who love the seasonal, strawberry-like tang of rhubarb cannot get enough of it while it’s in season. My crisp is the perfect potluck take-a-long that screams summer with the addition of nectarines or peaches (especially when topped with a scoop of frozen AIP nice cream – aka pureed frozen bananas)!
This crisp is incredibly delicious and relatively easy to do. The topping is so tasty and comes together quickly thanks to cassava flour and tigernut flour. From start to finish you’ll have your crisp ready in under an hour so you can get to rhubarb-nomming in no time!
An AIP-approved dessert the whole family can enjoy.

AIP Vanilla Cake
I really love how this cake looks- it is so decadent with the vanilla icing and some freeze dried berries on top. I used raspberries but you could use whatever fruit you like best!
If you are in need of a birthday cake or a celebration cake, this is it! Or if you are like me and you wanted a “just because cake” then this recipe will also fit the bill.
AIP Orange Cranberry Tigernut Biscotti
Want something to dip into your dandelion cold brew or AIP chicory coffee substitute in the mornings or when you wind down for the day?
These delicious biscotti sure hit the “dunkable” mark!
The flavor combination of cranberries and orange are so good! The tigernut gives it the crunch factor you’ve been missing without nuts.
AIP Chocolate Chip Cookies
No AIP Baked Dessert Recipes roundup would be complete without chocolate chip cookies! Except these are cocoa-free, since cocoa comes from a seed and is temporarily eliminated on the AIP.
I truly believe that these are the world’s best AIP Chocolate Chip Cookies….but I’ll let you be the judge! The secret ingredient in these cookies is sweet potato flour. This cookie comes out super moist because of it.
